With only one week to go until the fifth and final phase of Pearl Sky officially goes on sale, the exclusive development has already achieved an unprecedented level of interest, with the value of signed ‘Commitment to Purchase’ agreements amounting to R2.5 billion.

Offering executive studio, one, two, three and four bedroom apartments, Pearl Sky promises much more than just a spectacular home, it offers an exclusive lifestyle.

This is according to Piaras Moriarty, CEO of DevMark Global, who says, to date their dedicated sales agents have met and presented to in excess of 1 000 interested buyers.

He says although they have received a signed ‘Commitment to Purchase’ from many investors, the sales of the apartments will only commence at the sales event taking place at the Durban ICC on 4 April 2015.

The Pearls of Umhlanga has announced that construction on its final phase has commenced, and that on completion the development will be worth in excess of R3 billion, making it one of the largest private sector investments in the region over the last ten years.

At an event hosted to launch Pearl Sky, the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Michael Mabuyakhulu, confirmed that a development such as The Pearls of Umhlanga was key to generating both investment and tourism to the KwaZulu-Natal province.

In addition to the modern apartments and stunning sea views, this phase will include zen gardens, sun decks, lap pool, jacuzzi and children’s play areas to name a few.

According to Anant Singh, Director of The Pearls of Umhlanga Development, they are excited to be on the brink of finalising their vision, which was to create the province's most iconic development.

He says although this has already been achieved as a result of the first 4 phases, namely Pearl Reef, Pearl Tides, Pearl Breeze and Pearl Dawn, Pearl Sky will further bolster this status.

Due for completion in the first quarter of 2018, Pearl Sky will include 422 upmarket residential apartments, as well as a 14 500sqm luxury boutique retail component.

Offering executive studio, one, two, three and four bedroom apartments, Pearl Sky promises much more than just a spectacular home, it offers an exclusive lifestyle.  In addition to the modern apartments and sea views, this phase will include zen gardens, sun decks, lap pool, jacuzzi and children’s play areas to name a few.

"One of the most unique aspects of the fifth phase is the fact that residents will have direct access to a luxury boutique mall offering retail, business and wellness facilities."

Singh says one of the most unique aspects of the fifth phase is the fact that residents will have direct access to a luxury boutique mall offering retail, business and wellness facilities. This will feature the country’s most stylish boutiques, designer labels and the finest restaurants, all to satisfy the most opulent tastes, he says.

“Although we are pleased with the response achieved by Pearl Sky, this is the last opportunity for anyone to own an apartment in what is considered to be one of the most exclusive developments in the country, and we have therefore always been confident of its success.”

A relatively unique concept has been adopted to sell the apartments at Pearl Sky. In December, marketing for Pearl Sky commenced through the on-site sales centre, where people where driven to the website to pre-register to attend the sales event. To date, more than 3 000 launch registrations have been received.

Moriarty says in order to receive an invitation to the sales event, interested buyers have to register on the website and attend a formal presentation. If an interested buyer or their appointed proxy is not at the sales event, they cannot buy the apartment of their choice beforehand, and therefore stand a chance of losing their desired apartment.

He says this is a strategy that has worked successfully for them when selling and marketing developments internationally. They have always been confident that this would be an effective method to achieve sales for Pearl Sky, and thus far the response has been remarkable, he says.
