WESTVILLE / COWIES HILL



Westville was a farming area up until the early 1920's and the charm and natural beauty of this rural area remains to this day.



In 1948 Jonas Bergthiel chartered a ship and brought out a group of German farmers and their families who settled approximately 12km inland from Durban.  The area was named Westville in honour of Martin West, the first lieutenant Governor of Natal.



It is home to schools that are ranked in the top ten in the country, eg: Westville Boys High and Westville Girls School.  We are also fortunate to have the new Varsity College and the University of KwaZulu Natal (now globally recognised) in the area.  The Palmiet Nature Reserve which covers an area of 70 hectares and caters for people who enjoy bird watching, walking or indigenous flora in a safe and secure environment is also situated in the heart of Westville.



The lush leafy suburb of modern day Westville with its elegant homes set in picturesque gardens, combined with an ideal climate, make it a much sought after area.  Properties in the area offer excellent value for money.



It's proximity to Durban and Pinetown and accessibility to all highways, as well as the fact that we have the well known Pavilion Shopping Center and Westville Life hospital on our doorstep, make Westville an ideal place to live.
